PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head slider and a storage medium driving device in which attachment of lubricant on a head element can be prevented surely. SOLUTION: An air stream is operated to a medium opposite plane 34 based on relative movement of a head slider 22 and a storage medium 14. Consequently, negative pressure is caused at a negative pressure generation region 56 being an air flow-out side more than a second rail 39. Lubricant of the storage medium 14 is wound up to the negative pressure generation region 56. The lubricant wound up by the negative generation region 56 is made to flow to the air flow-out side from the second rail 39. Since a groove 52 divides a first rail 38 from the negative pressure generation region 56, lubricant flowing to the first rail 38 is pulled in the groove 52. Lubricant does not reach the first rail 38. Attachment of lubricant on a head element 33 is prevented. Deterioration of the property of the head element 33 is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
