PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayered porous formed body comprising a plurality of layers and having pores without depending on a specified material in which pores are formed. SOLUTION: A method for producing the multilayered porous formed body includes a process for preparing a liquid slip by mixing a hydrophobic powder composed of one or two kinds selected from a coal powder and a graphite powder having hydrophobic property and a hydrophilic powder composed of one to four kinds selected from a clay mineral, fly ash, pearlite and zeolite having hydrophilic property, a process for forming a dry body by arranging a moisture absorption member having high moisture absorbency on the inner wall side of a hollow casting mold, then filling the liquid slip in the hollow casting mold provided with the moisture absorption member, and forming the dry body by drying the liquid slip, a process for removing the casting mold on the outside of the dry body, and a process for firing the dry body. The particle size of the hydrophobic powder is set to be smaller than 325 mesh and larger than 500 mesh, and the particle size of the hydrophilic powder is set to be smaller than 50 and larger than 500 mesh.
