The method involves determining return pressure of a fuel module with a pressure sensor, and subtracting the return pressure from a medium pressure, to obtain pressure difference. The difference is compared with a given pressure and a rotation of a fuel pump (20) is adjusted based on the result of comparison. Speed of the fuel pump is adjusted by comparing the return pressure with a marginal threshold value and the speed of the pump is changed based on a result of the comparison.
