[PROBLEMS] To increase the amount of deflection of a chamber part when it receives the head of an occupant in a side collision. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] The curtain airbag device (10) has an airbag (11) having an inflator and also has chambers (13a to 13f) to which gas ejected from the inflator is supplied through a duct (14) and which are inflated and expanded between the head (Ph) of an occupant (P) and the inner surface of a vehicle interior. A slit (16a), for example, is provided between the duct (14) and the chambers (13a to 13d), and the slit extends generally parallel to the longitudinal direction of the airbag (11). [EFFECT] Because the chamber part can generally horizontally move in the lateral direction of the vehicle when the head is received by the chamber part in a side collision, the amount of deflection of the chamber part is increased to improve head protection performance of the airbag device.
