A loopback type WDM(Wavelength-Division Multiplexing) PON(Passive Optical Network) system is provided to establish a more stable network by preventing a damage of transmission performance even at a low input light power. A central base station(110) converts downlink signals into downlink optical SCM(Sub-Carrier Multiplexing) signals, wavelength-multiplexes them and transmits the wavelength-multiplexed signals, or receives and demodulates wavelength-multiplexed uplink optical OOK(On-Off Keying) signals so as to convert them into uplink signals. An RN(Remote Node)(150) receives the wavelength-multiplexed downlink light SCM signals, wavelength-demultiplexes them into the downlink optical SCM signals and transmits them, or receives uplink optical OOK signals, wavelength-multiplexes them, and transmits the wavelength-multiplexed signals. Subscriber connection devices(130-1 to 130-N) split the downlink optical SCM signals into the first and second SCM signals, convert the first light SCM signals into the downlink signals, and modulate the uplink signals into the optical OOK signals by using the second light SCM signals, and transmit them to the RN.
