PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid composition or an ink set which gives an image of good printing dignity when liquid composition and ink or black and color ink sets are adhered and recorded, and further which can perform long-living of an inkjet recording head.

SOLUTION: The liquid composition for ink jet recording used to form the image together with coloring ink to generate a reaction when brought into contact with the ink includes: material including at least polyvalent metallic salt, material selected from cryptand, and liquid composition including liquid medium; a coloring material. Color ink includes at least a liquid medium, a polyvalent metallic salt, material selected from a cryptand, and a liquid medium, a polyvalent metallic salt, and material selected from the cryptand. The ink set for the ink jet recording comprises a color material and a liquid medium and is combined with at least black ink reacting with the color ink by the contact with the color ink. An ink jet recording method and instruments of this kind are provided.
