PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather resistance-enhancing material for an aqueous coating that is excellent in polymerization stability and storage stability, hardly causes bleeding out from the coating film when added to an aqueous coating and enhances weather resistance such as gloss retention, yellowing resistance, water resistance or the like by leaps and bounds. SOLUTION: The copolymer (A) comprises 1-94 mass% of a polyorganosiloxane polymer (a) bearing a functional group forming a grafted point such as an ethylenically unsaturated group, 6-50 mass% of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (b) bearing a piperidyl group in the molecule represented by general formula (I) and 0-93 mass% of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (c) (provided that the sum of the components (a), (b) and (c) is 100 mass%). In the formula, R<SB>1</SB>is a hydrogen atom or a 1-2C alkyl group; X is an oxygen atom or an imino group; Y is a hydrogen atom or a 1-20C alkyl or alkoxy group; and Z is a hydrogen atom or a cyano group.
