PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current collector rod for a battery capable of preventing the generation of hydrogen gas due to contact of molten zinc and brass and leakage of electrolyte due to plating or the like excessively precipitated at the tip at the time of both non-discharge and excessive discharge, and a manufacturing method of the current collector rod for battery, and a battery incorporating the current collector rod. SOLUTION: The current collector rod for the battery is made of a barrel part 12 formed in a rod shape, a connection part 13 of circular plate shape which is formed integrally at the end part of this barrel part 12 and jointed to a negative electrode terminal plate 7, and a tip part 14 of cone shape or truncated cone shape which is formed integrally at the other end part of the barrel part 12; and the surface of the barrel part 12 and a large-diameter portion 14a of the tip part 14 is covered with plating and the connection part 13 and the portion 14b at the further tip side than the large-diameter portion 14a are not formed of plating cover.
