PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies of controlling output volume in sound effects for enhancing game amusement and of surely telling the occurrence of any abnormality with sound effects. SOLUTION: This game machine is provided with separate sound volume tables for normal use and abnormal use, each capable of producing various sound effects which correspond to a plurality of selectable setting values. The setting values in the sound volume table for abnormal use are each made to produce larger sounds than those for normal use. The output sound volume is decided based on a selected value as well as the sound volume table in producing the sound effect. This way makes it possible to control the volume in sound effects in accordance with a selected setting value in a normal state. On the other hand, in an abnormal state, the sound effect for telling the occurrence of abnormality is produced in a larger sound regardless of the selected setting value, so that the occurrence of abnormality can be surely reported by sound effects alone.
