SYSTEM AND DATA EXCHANGING METHOD FOR INTERLOCKING WIRELESS LAN AND PORTABLE INTERNET

A system for cooperatively operating a WLAN(Wireless LAN) and a wireless Internet and a data exchanging method are provided to provide a wireless Internet service to a WLAN terminal in an area beyond the coverage of an WLAN AP(Access Point). A terminal performs signaling to a tunneling mode(S201) and generates a data packet to be transmitted to the Internet(S203). The terminal transmits the data packet to an interworking device(S205), and the interworking device capsulates the data packet(S207) and transmits the capsulated data packet(S209). The Internet receives the capsulated data and extracts the data packet from the capsulated data packet(S211). The Internet generates a data packet to be transmitted to the terminal(S213), capsulates the data packet(S215), and transmits the capsulated data packet to the interworking device(S217). The interworking device receives the capsulated data packet and extracts the data packet from the capsulated data packet(S219). The interworking device transmits the data packet to the terminal(S221).
