PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery state estimation method capable of accurately estimating the discharge capacity or the degree of degradation of a battery by correcting the influence of the temperature of the battery and variation of charging rate. SOLUTION: Coefficients A and B are calculated based on the measured temperature T and charging rate SOC (steps S202 and S203). Next, measured impedance X is substituted into a response voltage correlation equation to which the calculated coefficients A and B are applied, and response voltage Vc is calculated (step S204). The response voltage Vc calculated in the step S204 is compared with a predetermined threshold V0 (step S205), and it is determined that the battery is normal when Vc is V0 or higher (step S206).
