PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for printing having advantage in coloring variation or clearness of an image more than heretofore in the event of printing on a printing face having irregularities, and a printer. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method for printing on a printing face PH having irregularities ED by using a print head. The print head is installed to be ready for a straight movement relative to the printing face PH so as to allow the whole of the printing face PH to be scanned with the print head in a condition that it is not in contact with the printing face PH. A distance between the print head and the printing face PH is divided into a plurality of height levels TL1-TL3, and the scanning is carried out by each of the height levels TL1-TL3. The printing of images by means of the print head is carried out on each of regions ER1-ER3 of the printing face PH included in the stage level of the scanning by each scanning.
