PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader/writer for automatic vending machine to easily output settlement processing information of electronic money even when the main control part of the automatic vending machine malfunctions. SOLUTION: This reader/writer for an automatic vending machine is provided with: a detection part 102 for detecting malfunction of a main control part 22: a switching part 103 for, when a predetermined malfunction is detected by the detection part 102, connecting to a settlement information output part 23 installed in the automatic vending machine in place of a main control part; and an RW control part 109 for, when the connection is switched by the switching part 103, controlling electronic money settlement information 110 to be output from a settlement information output part 23. Thus, it is possible to acquire electronic money settlement information 110 without directly connecting a device for acquiring the electronic money settlement information 110 to a reader/writer 110 for an automatic vending machine. Therefore, it is possible to easily output the electronic money settlement information 110, and to quickly confirm and collect the electronic money settlement information 110.
