PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a bidirectional optical module that has less optical axis deviation against a force imparted to a housing and that can be miniaturized, and also to materialize an optical pulse tester. SOLUTION: Improvements are made on the bidirectional optical module which is loaded, on the side of a housing, with a light source for emitting light, a photoreceptor for receiving incident light and an optical fiber and which is mounted on a substrate. The module is characterized in that, in a part of the bottom of the housing, a projected part is provided for the purpose of fixedly bringing the module into contact with the substrate.
