PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition that permits densification of cell nuclei, formed when a resin is impregnated with a supercritical fluid and is subjected to rapid pressure reduction from high pressure, and thereby permits micronization and densification of cells during subsequent growth of the cells, and a fine foam manufactured from the resin composition. SOLUTION: The foam is formed of a composition (composition-I) comprising 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (component A) and 0.001-30 pts.wt. of a surfactant (component B), where the foam has a length-average diameter of a cell of 0.01-1μm and cell number density within the range of 10<SP>11</SP>-10<SP>16</SP>pieces/cm<SP>3</SP>.
