PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmacological composition for treating the Smith-Magenis syndrome that is an usual genetic disease caused by a tiny defect of chromosome. SOLUTION: One compound is selected from the group of agomelatine, namely [2-(7-methoxy-1-naphthyl)ethyl]acetamide that is represented by the formula, and its hydrate or adduct salts formed by combining with acid or base that are acceptable crystal or pharmacologically permissible one and only its own, or the combination thereof with one or more pharmacologicaly acceptable vehicles to obtain the pharmacological composition.
