The method involves sequentially sending acoustic switching information e.g. tone sequence, by reproducers (A1, A2) of a communication network e.g. wireless personal network. The information is received by read-to receive mobile terminals (E1-E3) e.g. mobile telephone, and is sent to a server (S) e.g. web server. Transmission of predetermined messages to the mobile terminals is performed by the server based on the received information. A communication between the server and the mobile terminals is established based on the switching information by the communication network with a controller. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for performing acoustic control in a communication network.
