<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift indication method for a manual transmission that can avoid a situation where operation cannot be performed as indicated by a shift indicator lamp in an abnormal time of a system unrelated to a parameter used for the control of the shift indication method. <P>SOLUTION: The shift indication method for the transmission for indicating upshift or downshift to the shift indicator lamp according to the operating state of a vehicle equipped with the manual transmission, comprises steps of detecting the abnormality of a control system unrelated to the parameter used for the control of the shift indication method, determining whether to perform torque limit lowering control when detecting the abnormality of the control system, and inhibiting the lighting of the shift indicator lamp when performing the torque limit lowering control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
