<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can share a single portable apparatus and select an instant output language even for users and places using two or more languages. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 15 is equipped with a receiving means 8 for receiving signals from the portable apparatus 1 equipped with a transmitting means 3 for sending signals to the printer and a switching means 6 for choosing a language, a voice output means 10 for outputting a voice, a voice mode switching means 12 for changing ON/OFF of the voice output from the signal from the portable apparatus 1, a memory means 11 which stores two or more voice-outputting language data and a discrimination means 12 for identifying the language chosen by the language information contained in the output signal from the portable apparatus 1.
