PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion device which improves durability of a seal member by reducing the wear of soft sheets. SOLUTION: The linear motion device 1 comprises the seal member 11 provided at the end of a movable body 3 and brought into sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of a guide shaft 2. The seal member 11 is formed of a plurality of soft sheets 12 and at least one reinforcing sheet 13, into multiple layers with the soft sheets 12 and reinforcing sheets 13 alternately laminated so that the soft sheets 12 are provided on at least one of the front and rear faces of the seal member 11. A lubricating oil reservoir 15 is formed between the adjoining soft sheets 12 by only the ends of the plurality of soft sheets 12 come in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the guide shaft 2.
