PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally friendly vessel suppressing fuel consumption on the berth. SOLUTION: This vessel 10 is provided with a hull 11; a gas engine power generator 12 provided in the hull 11; a battery 13 where electric power from the gas engine power generator 12 is temporarily stored; a counter-rotating pod propeller 14 driven by receiving electric power supply from the battery 13; a fuel gas supply part 15 for supplying fuel gas to the gas engine power generator 12; inboard electrical equipment 16 receiving electric power supply from the battery 13; and a system control part 17 for controlling systems of these components. The vessel 10 under way obtains propulsion by rotating propellers P1, P2 by motors M1, M2, respectively. On the berth, the vessel 10 performs electric power regeneration by rotating the propellers P1, P2 by tidal currents to generate electric power by the motors M1, M2. By the rotation of the propellers P1, P2, electric power generated by the motors M1, M2 is stored in the battery 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
