PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielding member for covering the connection part of a curtain elevating and lowering cord and an operation cord, capable of contributing to the reduction of the lowering speed of a curtain cloth by giving weight to the curtain elevating and lowering cord of a cord type tuck-up curtain. SOLUTION: The shielding member comprises the combination of a hollow case 13 whose inside is hollow, upper end has an insertion hole 12 for the curtain elevating and lowering cord 5 and lower surface is open, a lid member 14 for closing the lower end opening of the hollow case 13 and a required number of ring-like weights 15 housed inside the hollow case 13, and the lid member 14 is provided with a housing part 18 of a knot 17 formed by connecting the curtain elevating and lowering cord 5 and the operation cord 9.
