OPTICAL PICKUP OPTICAL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a manufacturing cost of an optical pickup optical system itself.

SOLUTION: A prism 11 constituting the optical pickup optical system 10 is an optical element having: an incident plane 11a of a rotary symmetrical aspherical shape as a convex lens plane which converts a laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser LD to a parallel beam; a reflecting plane 11b internal-reflecting the laser beam converted to the parallel beam by the incident plane 11a; and an out-going plane 11c refracting the laser beam internal-reflected by the reflecting plane 11b to a direction perpendicular to an optical disk OD.
