PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive composition which can bring at least one of the reduction of thin film friction and the improvement of fuel economy, and to provide a lubricant composition. SOLUTION: This additive composition comprises a cleanser and an additive selected from a phosphorus-containing compound, a friction-improving agent, and a dispersant, and exhibits at least one of smaller thin film friction and improved fuel efficiency than those of additive compositions not containing the cleanser and the additive.
