<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LPDA antenna with improved performance over a broad frequency range. <P>SOLUTION: An LPDA antenna 700 includes a first antenna element 200a, a second antenna element 200b and a pair of transmission line structures 500a and 500b. The first antenna element 200a is fabricated as a continuous piece of conductive material to include a center conductor and a plurality of dipole elements extending outward from the center conductor. The second antenna element 200b is fabricated similarly to the first antenna element 200a although it is in a mirror image relation with the first antenna element. The first and second antenna elements 200a and 200b and the pair of transmission line structures 500a and 500b are coupled, such that no electrical discontinuities exist between them.
