PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized jack that correctly maintains the mounting conditions of a hollow-columnar contact. SOLUTION: The jack 10 is connected to a plug 9. A housing 1 has a plug storage 11 with a plug insertion port 1a open for setting the plug 9. A cover housing 2 1 slidably blocks the housing. Contacts 3, 4 have pressure-bonding units 31, 41 for bonding wires 3w, 4w, and contact units 32, 42 for connecting the plug 9. The contact unit 32 has a hollow column 3a, and the contact unit 42 has an elastic flexure 4a. The housing 1 is provided with a wire inserter 12, with the base terminals of the contact units 32, 42 that are bent and have extending wires 3w, 4w. The cover housing 2 has a lifted portion 21 lifted up from its inner wall toward the wire inserter 12 and extending substantially parallel to the sliding direction of the cover housing 2, and a projected strip 22, projecting from the lifted portion 21 to press the hollow column 3a against the plug insertion port 1a.
