PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture a microminiaturized piezoelectric vibrator of a high quality cylinder package type at a low cost. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a piezoelectric vibrator, comprising the processes of: process for processing a base substrate 20 to form a plurality of lead terminals 11 where an outer lead 11b is tied to one side of a base portion and to form a plurality of external connection terminals 22 at the other side of the base portion; process for assembling an airtight terminal; process for connecting a piezoelectric vibration chip under the condition that conduction is carried out to a stem; process for connecting a casing and the stem electrically; process for folding an outer lead to adjust the position of the casing and folding a part of the external connection terminals: process for repeating the processes to prepare a plurality of similar base portions; process for fixing each of the plurality of base portions to a mold frame to connect the casing to the external connection terminal electrically; process for performing resin molding on resin to form a resin-molding portion 6; and cutting process for cutting the outer lead and the external connection terminal for separation from the base portion.
