PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder reduced in back tension at low cost and capable of stably feeding sheets, and an image forming device. SOLUTION: When a sheet reaches a sheet separating part 17, an operating means D swings a pick arm 4 to separate a feed roller 5 from the sheet. A rotating roller 2 presses a rotating roller 3 and a separating pad holder 8 through the sheet S separated from a separating roller 7 and a separating pad 9 to lower the pressing forces of the separating roller 7 and the separating pad 9. Since the separating roller 7 and the separating pad 9 can be separated from each other by a small-sized simple mechanism, the back tension during sheet feeding can be reduced at low cost.
