A method and an apparatus for enhancing continuous packet connectivity in a wireless communications system are provided to prevent a system error by inactivating an operational function without a high-speed common control channel in case of wireless disconnection, a wireless link control error, or a performance information message transmission failure of a user device. A activation process is performed to activate an operational function without a control channel on the basis of a performance state variable value(302). An execution process is performed to execute a corresponding operation by re-determining the performance state variable value when a cell update process is in an active state(304). The operational function without the control channel is a prohibition function for prohibiting transmission of a related control signal to a control channel corresponding to an HARQ(Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) when an HARQ processor executes a first transmission process corresponding to a data transport block. |
