THE METHOD OF TRANSMITTING COLOR GAMUT AND THE IMAGE DEVICE THEREOF

A color gamut information transmitting method and an image device using the same are provided to enable an image device receiving an image to reproduce the image based on color gamut information by generating data with color gamut for an image and transmitting the generated color gamut information and the image, thereby preventing deterioration of image quality. An image device comprises an image data provider(310), a color gamut information generator(320), an ancillary data generator(330), an synthesizer(340) and a data transmitter(350). The color gamut information generator generates color gamut information. The ancillary data generator generates ancillary data including the color gamut information. The synthesizer synthesizes the ancillary data with image data.
