摘要 An electrode active material, its preparation method, an electrode containing the active material, and a secondary battery containing the electrode are provided to prevent the elusion of a transition metal from an electrode active material into an electrolyte, thereby improving the safety and lifetime of a battery and preventing the falling of voltage. An electrode active material comprise a particle comprising AxMyZO4; and a coating layer which comprises a metal oxide, a phosphorus oxide or a metal phosphate and is coated on the surface of the particle, wherein A is at least one selected form alkali metals; M is at least one selected from transition metals; Z is at least one selected from the group consisting of P, As, Si and S; 0<x<=1; and 0<y<=1. Preferably the AxMyZO4 is LiMPO4, wherein M is at least one selected from the group consisting of Fe, Co, Ni and Mn.
