A bipolar battery, and a battery pack using the bipolar battery are provided to inhibit the fluctuation of current density, thereby preventing the deterioration of a battery element and the decrease of durability. A bipolar battery comprises a battery element(30) comprising a bipolar electrode provided with a cathode formed on one side of a current collector and an anode formed on the other side of a current collector, and an electrolyte layer which are laminated alternatively; and plus and minus terminals(51,52) which are electrically connected with the ends of the battery unit and collects the current flowing in surface direction, wherein the electrical resistance(R3) of the current flowing in the surface direction corresponding to the battery element at the plus and minus terminals is smaller than the total sum(R1+R2) of the electrical resistance of the current flowing in the lamination direction between the plus and minus terminals. |
