<p>A system and a method for maintaining a packet protocol context are provided to enable a mobile device to measure a timeout continuous period to determine the timeout continuous period and transmit packets through the packet protocol context for maintaining the packet protocol context during data inactivity near the timeout continuous period, thereby realizing the proper frequency of data transmission from the mobile device to reduce a load of a network. A method for maintaining a packet protocol context comprises the following steps of: determining a timeout continuous period that the packet protocol context is not activated by a network due to inactivity of data through the packet protocol context(2-1); and transmitting packets through the packet protocol context for maintaining the packet protocol context when the data is not activated for a period near the timeout continuous period(2-2).</p> |
