摘要 An LCD device and a method for driving the same are provided to drive rapidly gate lines by increasing the frequency of a gate control signal based on the turn off of power. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a power supply unit(10), a power detecting unit(12), a timing controller(14), gate and data drivers(16,18), and a liquid crystal panel(20). The power supply unit outputs plural driving voltages after delaying the plural driving voltages. The power detecting unit monitors one of the driving voltages and outputs a power off detection signal. The timing controller increases the frequency of control signals in response to the power off detection signal and outputs control signals having the increased frequency. The gate driver outputs scan signals in response to a control signal having the increased frequency. The data driver outputs the same voltages in response to another control signal of the timing controller. The liquid crystal panel supplies the same voltages to respective sub-pixels in response to the scan signals.
