A liquid crystal display device and a method of fabricating the same are provided to connect a gate wiring with a gate pad and to connect a data wiring with a data pad without a contact hole or a connecting wiring to reduce the number of masks, to prevent wavy noise defect, and to reduce off current. A liquid crystal display device comprises a gate wiring, a gate pad(102), a data wiring, a data pad, a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode(119), a protective layer(117), a second substrate(130), and a liquid crystal layer. The gate wiring is deposited with a first transparent metal layer pattern(101) and a first opaque metal layer pattern(103) on a first substrate(100). The data wiring is deposited with a second transparent metal layer pattern(111) and a second opaque metal layer pattern. The pixel electrode has the second transparent metal layer pattern, and the gate pad only has the first transparent metal layer pattern. The protective layer, formed around the gate pad, exposes the gate pad. |
