A container locking apparatus for a railway vehicle is provided to fasten a container to a freight car with elastic force of a spring by directly fixing the locking apparatus to the freight car loaded with the container. A container locking apparatus for a railway vehicle includes a housing(100), a cover(200), a locker(300), a socket(400), a spring(600), and a handle(800). A bolt hole(120) is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the housing. The housing has an inlet hole(130) to insert an upper end of the locker. A rotation preventing groove(420) is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the socket in correspondence to the bolt hole of the housing. The socket is coupled with a socket coupling unit(320) of the locker. A rotation preventing unit(500) is inserted into the bolt hole and the rotation preventing groove. The rotation preventing unit includes a stopper bolt(510) inserted into the rotation preventing groove of the socket and a spring washer(520) inserted between the stopper bolt and the bolt hole.
