A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent source voltage down by disconnecting a voltage generator from sub-pixels in discharge. A display device includes plural sub-pixels(E11-E44), a voltage generator(204), and a discharge voltage unit(210). The sub-pixels are formed at cross section where data and scan lines cross each other. The voltage generator generates driving voltages. The discharge voltage unit including a charging element, a capacitor, charges up the charging element to a discharge voltage using the driving voltage from the voltage generator. When some sub-pixels are discharged, scan lines related to the discharge among the scan lines(S1-S4) are connected to the discharge voltage unit.
