A system and a method for supplying fuel gas of an LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) carrier are provided to simplify structure and to reduce power consumption by supplying LNG from an LNG storage tank to a high pressure gas injection engine after compressing and vaporizing the LNG. A system for supplying fuel gas of an LNG carrier includes a heat exchanger(3), a heater(5), a compressor(6), a cooler(7), a first pump(2), a second pump(4), a fuel gas supply line(L1), and an evaporation gas liquefaction line(L2). The heat exchanger is installed on the fuel gas supply line to perform heat transfer between LNG and evaporation gas taken out from an LNG storage tank(1). The fuel gas supply line supplies the LNG from the LNG storage tank to a high pressure gas injection engine. The first pump is installed on the fuel gas supply line to compress the LNG according to pressure required for the high pressure gas injection engine. The evaporation gas liquefaction line passes through the heat exchanger and returns the evaporation gas from an upper part of the LNG storage tank to one side of the LNG storage tank. The second pump is installed on the fuel gas supply line to compress the LNG, heat-transferred to the evaporation gas in the heat exchanger, according to the pressure required for the high pressure gas injection engine. The heater is installed on the fuel gas supply line to heat the LNG, heat-transferred in the heat exchanger, to supply the heated LNG to the high pressure gas injection engine. The compressor and the cooler are sequentially installed on the evaporation gas liquefaction line to compress and cool the evaporation gas taken out from the LNG storage tank and perform the heat-exchange with the LNG. |
