An apparatus for adjusting the height of a flat type monitor is provided to attenuate a difference between the weight of a monitor body and the elastic force of a spring by the compressive force of an O-ring to position a monitor, thereby enabling a user to adjust the height of the monitory body easily. An apparatus for adjusting the height of a flat type monitor comprises a flexible guide(110), a fixed guide(120), and a spring(140). The flexible guide has a roller which is mounted to the side of the flexible guide and rolls up and down. The fixed guide keeps that the flexible guide contacts the fixed guide, is joined to the flexible guide in a structure that the flexible guide rolls up and down on the fixed guide, and has a roller guide portion(122) formed in the side end of the fixed guide to guide the rolling direction of a roller(130). The spring applies upward elastic force to the flexible guide. At least one O-ring(132) is joined to the side of the roller.
