A reproduction method of multimedia data in a portable terminal and the portable terminal therefor are provided to reproduce multimedia data contained in a folder where the multimedia data is stored, even without a user individually designating the folder, and to selectively reproduce the multimedia data contained in the folder. An input unit(100) inputs an input signal by including at least one key. A storage unit(120) stores multimedia data, and matches a folder where the multimedia data is stored with key information of the input unit to store the matched information. A controller(150) receives an input signal from the input unit to generate a control signal which reproduces the multimedia data of the folder matched with the key information corresponding to the input signal.
