A method for culturing an animal cell is provided to increase the expression of a protein disulfide isomerase by adding an extract of Glycyrrhiza uralensis during the animal cell culturing. A 10 vol. % of an extract of Glycyrrhiza uralensis as an expression increase inducing material of the protein disulfide isomerase is added to a culture medium at 70% confluency, in order to culture an animal cell for producing a protein disulfide isomerase.
