An ice making device and a control method thereof are provided to use conveniently by setting a control program according to the driving information including a use amount, a use cycle, and a use time period. An ice making device comprises an ice making device, a storage part(120), an input part(110), an operation part(140), and a control part(100). The storage part stores plural basic driving modes for driving the ice making device. The input part selects the driving mode of the ice making device and inputs the driving information required for driving. The operation part generates a user driving mode for driving the ice making device according to the driving information. The control part drives the ice making device by any one of the plural basic driving modes or the user driving mode according to the driving mode selected by a user. The driving information includes a use amount, a use cycle, and a use time period.
