An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method of compensating for images thereof are provided to enhance effectively temperature characteristics by compensating for temperature variation according to the display areas. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a liquid crystal panel assembly, a temperature sensor, an image signal compensator(601), a temperature compensator(660), and a calculator(680). The liquid crystal panel assembly includes plural pixels. The temperature sensor detects temperature. The image signal compensator produces first reference data on the temperature and generates compensation image signals on previous and current image signals based on the first reference data. The temperature compensator compensates for temperature variation according to display areas in the liquid crystal panel assembly. The calculator determines output image signals based on the outputs from the image signal compensator and the temperature compensator.
