An image forming apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to perform a print process so as for a print output to be suitable for color preference of a user even when there is a toner having an insufficient remained amount, thereby improving convenience and economic efficiency of the user. A control method of an image forming apparatus comprises the following steps of: analyzing an original color of print data during color print(S101); analyzing a remained amount of plural toners(S102); generating plural correction sample images where colors of the rest toners except a toner having an insufficient remained amount are associated so as to be similar to the analyzed original color if there is the toner of which the remained amount is insufficient(S103,S104); and printing a report including the generated plural correction sample images(S105).
