A device and a method for performing rendering are provided to enable a maker to reduce needed time from determination of contents to be authored to make interface data by using the interface data to be quickly made in anytime regardless of a terminal in which the interface data is installed, as the interface data is descried in a format utilizing a VRML(Virtual Reality Markup Language) rule. An analyzer(220) analyzes nodes of interface data, which is described by using a plurality of hierarchically connected nodes and represents a plurality of selectable items. A renderer(250) renders the interface data based on an analysis result. A node updater(230) includes state transition tables, which represents more than one node included in the predetermined node, in the node. An operation recognizer(240) recognizes an operation result of the renderer. The analyzer analyzes the node corresponding to the operation result. The top node is bindable, and the recent or default node is activated when the top node is bound again.
