An infrared communication device of a portable terminal is provided to rotate a transceiver cover which closes an opening formed on a housing, thereby fixing the transceiver cover to the opening, consequently a stable fixed state can be maintained even though a separate bonding process is not performed. A transceiver includes an opening(119) formed on a terminal housing. A transceiver cover(201) is combined with the opening. At least one supporting projection(221) is formed on an inner side of the housing at a position adjacent to the opening. At least one coupling projection(211) is formed on the transceiver cover. If an outer side of the transceiver cover is rotated toward an outer side of the housing after being positioned on the opening, the coupling projections are engaged with the supporting projections to couple the transceiver cover with the opening.
