A portable terminal and a schedule information notify method thereof are provided to offer a schedule information notify service set in the terminal more efficiently and conveniently, and to notify a user of schedule information simply, then to protect privacy from other people for the schedule information. A controller decides whether the current time is included in icon display time contained in schedule information in waiting state(S301,S302). If so, the controller displays an icon in accordance with the schedule information(S303), and decides whether the icon display time elapses(S305). If not, the controller decides whether an icon selection signal is inputted(S307). If so, the controller decides whether event contents exist(S309). If so, the controller displays the event contents on a display unit(S311).
