A 6 speed manual transmission for a vehicle is provided to improve shift quality by reducing the total length and gear arrangement. A first shift gear(55) is inserted into an input shaft(57) to which driving power from an engine is transferred. The first shift gear transmits the driving power transferred to the input shaft to a transmission. A second shaft gear(56) is inserted into a rear of the input shaft. The second shaft transfers the driving power transferred to the input shaft to the transmission. A shaft sleeve(62) is formed on the input shaft in one body. The shaft sleeve is located between the first shaft gear and the second shaft hear. The shaft sleeve is installed so that the first shaft gear and the second shaft gear are coupled to and separated from the input shaft. An output shaft(58) is coupled to the rear of the input shaft. A low speed step gear(51) is inserted into the front of the output shaft. A high speed step gear(53) is installed on the output shaft. The high speed step gear is separated toward a rear of the low speed step gear. An R speed step gear(61A) is installed on the output shaft. The R speed step gear is separated toward a rear of the high speed step gear. A first sleeve(60) is installed between the low speed step gear and the high speed step gear so that the low speed step gear and the high speed step gear are coupled to or separated from the output shaft. A second sleeve is formed in one body with the R speed step gear. The second sleeve is located between the R speed step gear and a middle speed step gear(52). The second sleeve is formed so that the R speed step gear and the middle speed step gear are coupled to and separated from the output shaft. A counter shaft(59) is installed in parallel on the input shaft and the output shaft. The counter shaft forms teeth with the transmissions installed on the input shaft and the output shaft.
