摘要 A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display using the same are provided to reduce the size of an inverter substrate in driving CCFLs(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps), simplify the structure by reducing the number of components, and reduce a fabrication cost. A plurality of CCFLs(120) is mounted in a row at an inner surface of a bottom cover(110) and provides light. The first cap capacitors(160) are formed to have a capsule type and connected with the first electrodes formed at one end of the CCFLs. The second cap capacitors(161) are formed to have a capsule type and connected with the second electrodes formed at the other end of the CCFLs. Inverter substrates(150,151) are connected with the first and second cap capacitors to drive the plurality of CCFLs in parallel. The first and second cap capacitors are formed to have a structure that one side has a round cylindrical shape.
