A mobile station (10) for a mobile telecommunication network (36), where the mobile telecommunication network (36) has a central computer unit (40), is disclosed. The mobile station (10) comprises: (a) a receiver and a transmitter unit, (b) a display having a hierarchic menu navigation with menu items, (c) a control unit for selecting menu items to operate the mobile station, and (d) means for displaying the menu items on the display, wherein each menu item is represented by a visual and/or acoustic element. The mobile station (10) further comprises means for retrieving and displaying visual and/or acoustic elements for menu items centrally from a computer unit (40) of the mobile telecommunication network (36). Also included are means for transmitting the data of the visual and/or acoustic elements from the central computer unit (40) when the respective menu item is retrieved.
